Bing Local Business Portal Goes Into Maintenance Mode
Good luck trying to add or update a local listing at the Bing Business Portal. It’s not working, and won’t be for another 10 days. As both Daniel Hollerung and David Wallace noticed on Twitter this morning, there’s a new “Scheduled Maintenance Alert” on the dashboard when you login:
It says the maintenance window began back on July 2 and continues through July 18 … that’s a seriously long time. Wow.
The message says that listings added after July 2 won’t be added until about July, but the “Add” button isn’t even working at the moment. If you try to add a new listing, you end up on a blank screen — no forms to complete, etc. On the other hand, the “Add 25+” bulk submit form is still working, it appears. At least, it still exists.
The rest of the functionality seems to still be there … at least for now. Very curious to see what the “significant improvements” that are mentioned in the alert message will be.
