One Man Business Ideas
A reader asks:
Can you suggest any business ideas that would suit one man working alone?
Quite a few of the business ideas that I’ve written about could be started and run by one man (or woman) on their own. For example, consider the following ideas:
- Become A Driving Instructor
- Starting A Taxi Cab Business
- Starting A Bouncy Castle Business
- Developing iPhone Applications
- Starting A Computer Repair Business
- Newspaper Delivery
- The Fruit Van Man
- Start A Handyman Business
and there are many more, check out the lists of Small Business Ideas, Home Business Ideas and Internet Business Ideas in particular.
However a word of warning. S
Tablet Sales Forecasted to Explode
Marketing Charts (great site) reports that Juniper Research is forecasting tablet sales to reach 81 million in 2015.
Sales in North America and Europe are expected to quadruple over this time frame. Tablet sales in Asia – currently negligible – are also expected to grow rapidly.
To put this into perspective, about 300 million PCs and 175 million Smartphones were sold globally in 2009.
The iPad is, of course, the most successful tablet so far. Apple sold 4.2 million last quarter alone, and one Wall Street analyst is forecasting Apple will sell 28 million iPads next year.
The success of the iPad is leading to pretty much everyone who makes PCs and/or Smartphones to enter this market. Apple will soon have a lot of competition.
How to Save Money on Your Home Insurance
Millions of people overpay for home insurance each year. If you think you may be among them or if you are just looking for a few ways to cut costs, the following tips may help you save money on your home insurance premium.
Lower Your Deductible
If you make a claim, you will have to pay what is known as a deductible before your insurance company will agree to pay their part. A low deductible results in a higher annual premium. A high deductible, on the other hand, will provide you with a lower annual premium. You may be able to save 20 percent or more by raising your deductible from $250 to $1,000. A really high deductible–$5,000 or more–could save you as much as 40 percent. Read all post…
Small Biz Tip: Rebranding: Get Involved
The Small Business tips today discuss how to get involved to promote your rebranding campaign.
- Local events are a great place to showcase your rebranded company. Chamber of Commerce meetings, small business associations, and town functions are great ways to get involved and display your rebranding campaign.
- Host a “preview” party for your loyal customers. Allow them to check out your rebranded image and store before anyone else with the VIP treatment!
- Sponsor a local sports organization. Many youth leagues are always looking for team sponsors. It’s a great way to get your name out there, and to help the little ones in your community!
- Be prepared. Have your elevator pitch, explanation for the rebrand, and some samples ready for anyone who asks.
Benefits of a direct savings account
There are countless benefits of using a savings account. For starters, a savings account is an account in which the money is not used for day to day purposed like the current account but it is saved and kept aside for future use.
The very first benefit is safety. It is never safe to keep large bulks of money on your home. Banks offer you great safety and they even give you interest for your money. They keep your precious money in waterproof, fireproof vaults and so you never need to worry about it.
We never know when we would need money. What will you do if your children get into an accident? What will you do when you get broke?
What Your Hiring Process Says About Your Company’s Brand
As the economy shows signs of picking up, more small businesses are considering hiring employees. If yours is one of them, take some time to think about your hiring process and what it says about your firm.
While many of us think of the hiring process in terms of how our businesses can be hurt (for instance, if we neglect to do a background check, we might hire a criminal), few of us think about the point David Lee makes in this ere.net article: Creating a poor hiring experience can permanently hurt your business brand.
When you’ve weeded down job applications and resumes to a precious few, what do you do before you contact those candidates? You probably go online and search their names. Well, you can be certain that job candidates are doing the same thing with your company. A
