5 Blogging Ideas
A good business blog delivers a multitude of benefits. From increased click through rates on your website to improved brand awareness and providing you with an aura of authority, it is well worth investing the time to deliver good quality business blog content. However, it can be hard knowing where to start blogging, so here are five ideas to get you started.
1. Consider your audience – Think about what your customers and prospects would be interested in reading that is relevant to your industry without being too ’salesy’. For example, if you run a clothing website, a blogging about advice on what clothing to pack for a summer holiday would be interesting for readers and could encourage sales on your website.
2. Do your research – Look at interesting articles that have been written by journalists on other sites. Linking to these articles from your business blog with some comment from your company shows that you are a dynamic company that welcomes new ideas.
3. Provide updates – Consider including information about any future events that you are involved in. Whether it is a company event, or a large conference or exhibition that you will be attended to encourage attendance amongst your customers and prospects.
4. Give your business a personality – An opinion piece from senior people within your company can help readers to understand the ‘personality’ of your business. Blogging like this makes you seem more approachable and personable.
5. Open up the conversation – Allow comments to be made on your blogging entries so that the blog readership feels that they are a part of an ongoing communication with you. This also improves the popularity of a business blog and allows you to capture your customers’ thoughts and suggestions.
