Corporate Speed Dating Opportunity with Intuit

Intuit is holding their 2nd Entrepreneur Day on August 16th in Mountain View, California. This event is targeted at entrepreneurial companies interested in exploring partnering opportunities with Intuit.

The day consists of three sessions. The first is a corporate overview with Intuit founder Scott Cook and CTO Tayloe Stansbury. The 2nd session consists of deep dives with business unit leaders. In the third session the attendees meet in private one-on-one sessions with Intuit business leaders to discuss partnership opportunities.

The first Intuit entrepreneur day was held last fall. I had the opportunity to attend, and the feedback from the participants was very positive.

More importantly, it led to concrete results. Intuit tells me they are in ongoing discussions with over a dozen of the 42 companies that attended and have active, joint pilot projects in place with 4.

Entrepreneur day is a great opportunity for companies to “get in the door” at Intuit and cut through much of the business development red tape usually associated with dealing with a large corporation.

It is also an interesting example of open innovation and shows the growing role partnerships are playing between large corporations and smaller firms.
